TSI Remote was developed to simplify the integration of embedded Linux applications to the iPhone. Interactive Instruments (www.interactiveinstruments.com) has developed a rugged metal enclosure (TS Interface) with an integrated keypad and graphical LCD that easily adapts various single board Linux boards developed by Technologic Systems (www.embeddedarm.com).

Adding Interactive Instruments enclosure to the Linux boards, simplifies the development of embedded applications by adding a versatile user interface which is adaptable to a wide range of applications. The iPhone application was developed to expand the versatility of the network interface, allowing users to interact with their custom Linux applications remotely.

The TS Interface enclosure comes with all the hardware needed to connect various PC-104 ARM boards (TS-7200, TS-7800) developed by Technologic Systems and interface cleanly and efficiently to a graphical LCD and keypad. All necessary source code is supplied so customer can quickly incorporate the keypad, LCD and iPhone network interface support into their embedded applications. The TSI Remote iPhone application incorporates a simple network protocol that exchanges keypad and LCD information with the Linux application so virtually any application can take advantage of the iPhone application with minimal effort.

The TSI Remote application can identify multiple enclosures on a network subnet and provide a list of the various devices. Selecting an enclosure from the list will establish a communication link between the TSI Remote application and the device. Enclosures located on another subnet such as over a VPN connection can be connected as well by manually entering the IP address.
